Shelbie Jean (Barnhardt) Parrish

Shelbie Jean Barnhardt Parrish, 87, of Kannapolis, passed away Sunday morning, September 15, 2024, at Atrium Health Cabarrus, following a period of declining health.

Born August 22, 1937, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Welldon Barnhardt and Mary Irene Smith Barnhardt.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willis Cleo Parrish, Sr; granddaughter, Stacy Holshouser; brother, Bob Barnhardt and her sister, Lillie Mae Hadly.

Mrs. Parrish was loved by all and “to know her was to love her”. She loved her family and enjoyed watching evangelists on TV.  Shelbie also enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, and she especially enjoyed the flowers she grew. Although in a much better place today, she will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

Family members include her children, Mike Parrish, Dennis Parrish, Willis Parrish, Jr. (Debbie), Charlie Parrish, Pam Dickson (David), Angie Holshouser and Lisa Parrish; her grandchildren, Brandi Beville, Joshua Parrish, Christy Green, Erica Holshouser, Laina Dickson and Megan Parrish; 10 great grandchildren; nieces; nephews and extended family members.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 2:00-3:00 at Pine Ridge Baptist Church in China Grove.  A memorial service to remember and give thanks for the life of Mrs. Parrish will begin at 3:00 pm, conducted by Pastor Mike Roper.
