Shelby Jean (Ross) Miller

October 28, 1938 — January 8, 2021

Kannapolis

Shelby Jean Ross Miller, 82, of Kannapolis passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House. She was born October 28, 1938 in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Charles Grady Ross and Lillie Mae Clinton Ross. Shelby was preceded in death by her husband, David Miller on August 11, 2010, her son, Jody Miller and her daughter, Dava Miller.

Shelby worked at Cannon Mills for over 40 years where she was an overseer in the bleachery department. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Enochville for many years and active until her health failed. She loved walking. Shelby loved her family especially spending time with her grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 11, 2021 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Lewis Whittington. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior at Whitley’s.

Shelby is survived by her children, Donna Miller, Pam Sechler, her  grandchildren, Justin, Katie, Trey, Kelli, Jodi, David and Braden, her great-grandchildren, Samuel, Lily, Gunnar, Emrie, Canaan, Cameron, Phoenix, Delaina,  her brothers, Earl “Tony” Ross, Grady “Sam” Ross Jr. and her sister, Rachel Yountz.

Memorials may be made to the Glenn Kiser Hospice House, Salisbury, NC.
