Shelia Greene Basinger

Obituary: Shelia Dianne Greene Basinger, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Carolinas Healthcare System-University, Charlotte, NC after several years of declining health. She was born December 12, 1946 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Dewitt Eugene Greene and Ruby Cassidy Greene. Dianne was retired with Stanley Tool and Dye, Kannapolis, NC after fifteen years of service. Prior to that time she and her husband operated a small trucking business. Dianne loved teaching Sunday School (Mission Friends Class) for a few years. She also loved doing crafts and home decorating. Her biggest love besides her family were caring for her special pets Kiddy, Oliver, and Lulu. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Carl Fosdick. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include her children, Cheryl Boger & husband, Eddie; Ronald Darin Hathcock; and Christopher Ray Hardee & fiancée, Lori Watts; one sister, Jean Sisk & husband, Bob of Raeford, NC; one brother, Ron Greene & wife, Joyce of Jackson, TN; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two nieces and two nephews.
