Sherry Diane Donaldson

Obituary: Sherry Diane Pennington Donaldson, 70, of Rockwell went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Five Oaks Manor, Concord following a period of declining health. Sherry was born November 18, 1947 in Cabarrus County, NC a daughter of the late George and Mildred Gordon Pennington. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Donaldson on March 28, 2011, along with a sister, Carol Gatton and a brother, Larry Pennington. Sherry was a wonderful Mother, who loved her grandchildren immensely. She loved to camp, fish, and was an avid treasure hunter. She also loved to embroider. She was employed in the cash management office of Food Lion in Salisbury prior to retirement. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel conducted by Rev. Steve Pennington. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. The family will receive friends at the Annex Chapel one hour prior to the funeral. Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Kim Eremie (Jacob) of Salisbury and Tiffany Chandler of Homestead, Fl., two sons, Chris Donaldson (Susan) of New London, and Richard Patterson of Greenville, NC, one sister, Sandy Garver of China Grove and brothers Steve Pennington of Kannapolis, Ronnie Pennington of Charlotte, Donnie Pennington of Supply and Jeff Pennington of Kannapolis. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Matthew, Emilee, Sam, Jared, and Colby. Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Donaldson.
