Sherry Jane Miller

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Sherry Jane Myers Miller, age 58, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Carolinas Healthcare System- NorthEast, Concord, NC after a period of declining health for several years and seriously ill for the past two months. She was born September 10, 1957 in Guilford County, NC, the daughter of the late Blanche Winona Russell Myers. Sherry was employed for many years at the former Cannon Mills Company and later at the former Terry Products, Inc. She was an active member with the Church of God of the Bible Mission Outreach where she taught Sunday school, helped organize the hot dog sales for the church, and was an active volunteer in various works of the church. She is remembered as a lady that loved helping young people especially with their problems. Sherry was also a past-member of the Jackson Park Community watch program. In addition to her mother she is preceded in death by a brother, James Myers; her sister-in-law, Barbara Myers; her father-in-law, Rev. David Ray Miller; and her beloved pet, Trigger Boy Miller. The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Church of God of the Bible Mission Outreach, 1412 Moose Road, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Bishop Paul Heffner and Pastor Alice Troutman. Burial will be at 3:00 PM Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Unity United Methodist Church, 8505 Unity Church Road, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 PM Saturday prior to the service at the church. Survivors include her husband for over twenty-four years, Walter Miller; two brothers, Billy Myers of Kannapolis, NC and Kevin Myers of Monroe, NC; nieces, Rebecca Sherrer of Winston-Salem, NC and Melissa Myers of New Providence, PA; a nephew, Joshua Witman of Salisbury, NC; and also three very special friends, Aunt Lois Jones, Mama Mary Acy, and Johnny Caldwell.
