Shirley Ann Willis Williams

Obituary: Shirley Ann Willis Williams, age 79, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC after a short illness. She was born December 25, 1935 in Robeson County, NC. Shirley was employed for many years as a waitress with the area What-A-Burger restaurants until her retirement. She attended Eva Drive Baptist Church, Concord, NC. Her family fondly remembers her love of cooking for them especially gravy and biscuits. She was also the "Mama" figure that everyone would talk and was an awesome mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Elbert Williams. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 31, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Keith Navey. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, July 30, 2015 at the funeral home. Survivors include her children, Bruce Williams (Kathy) of China Grove, NC; Michael Williams (Sibylle) of Kannapolis, NC; Dale Williams (Cheryl) of Landis, NC; and Marshall Williams of Elkin, NC; seven grandchildren, Charles Bruce Williams, Jr. (Dawn), Kevin Williams (Laura), Kellie Williams Thompson (William Wallace, Sr.), Mitchell and Elizabeth Williams, Andy and Kim Williams, Gavin Williams, and Jamie Welch (Beth); nine great-grandchildren, Brittany and Michael Williams, William Wallace, Jr. and Albert Wallace, Hayden and Hunter Welch, Liam and Hannah Williams, and Autumn, Allison, and Tyler Williams; one brother, Bo Willis of Lumberton, NC; two special kids, Bonnie and Larry Duncan; and a number of nieces & nephews.
