Shirley Ann Russell Blackwelder

Obituary: Shirley Russell Blackwelder, 74, of Kannapolis passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013. She was born February 8, 1939, in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Billie) Russell of Kannapolis. She worked for 10 years as time keeper in former plant 4 of Cannon Mills, and also spent several years working alongside her husband Ken at Spectrum Sales Inc. (Concord, NC). The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis, NC from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 29th. Funeral services will commence immediately following at 3p.m., also held at Whitley's Funeral Home. Funeral will be will officiated by Rev. Blair Bridle and Rev. Curtis Parker. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth W. Blackwelder; two sons, Kendall Blackwelder of Kannapolis and Chad Blackwelder (Becky) of Cumming, GA., two grandchildren, Harley and Heather Blackwelder both of Cumming, GA. and her sister, Carolyn Garver of Landis.
