Obituary: Shirley Ann Howell Campbell, 61 of Kannapolis died Saturday, June 18, 2011 at her residence following a period of declining health.She was born March 7, 1950 in Ashe County, NC a daughter of the late Edward and Betty Connor Howell. Mrs. Campbell was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Kannapolis. In addition to her loving family she had a special companion, her Pomeranian, "Tuff".Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Liberty Baptist Church in Kannapolis conducted Rev. Bennie Burgess. Interment will follow in St.Enoch's Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30-3:00 P.M. prior to the service. At other times they will be at the residence.Mrs. Campbell is survived by her husband of 40 years: Walter Howard Campbell, One Son: Barry Campbell and wife Lisa of Kannapolis, three sisters: Ruth Shepherd and husband Charles of Kannapolis, Patricia Reynolds and husband Jerry of Concord, Kitty Jennings and husband Rick of Wilkesboro, four brothers, Oren Howell of West Jefferson, Joe Howell and wife Vickie of China Grove, Rex Howell and Steve Howell and wife Brenda all of West Jefferson, and two step grandchildren: Kaley and Kelsey Wilson.Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Campbell.
