Shirley Ruth (Messer) Frazier

Shirley Ruth Messer Frazier, 80, of Gastonia and formerly of Kannapolis, went into her heavenly home on Tuesday, June 22, 2021.

Shirley was born on June 5, 1941 in Cabarrus County to the late Arthur Henry Messer and Beulah Boyd Messer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Eric Frazier, and two brothers Bobby Messer and Jack Messer, and special niece, Lisa Fletcher.

Shirley worked as a finisher at Cannon Mills in Kannapolis for several years.  She enjoyed caring for others as a CNA for seven years at First Assembly Living Center. She dearly loved and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her brother, William Messer; sister, Linda (Jack) Hendrick, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Terrace Ridge Assisted Living Facility and Staff, especially Nyosha McManus, for their loving care over the past three years. The family also wants to thank her special neighbor, Annie Lee Garrett.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Carolina Memorial Park with Rev. R.J. Hammond officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Shirley’s name may be made to Gaston Hospice, PO BOX 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.
