Shirley Lancaster Hathcock

Shirley Lancaster Hathcock, 89, of Concord passed away Friday, December 20, 2024 at Atrium Health Cabarrus.

She was born December 29, 1934 in Cabarrus Co. to the late William Henry Lancaster and Evelyn Brock Lancaster.

Shirley worked for Cannon Mills Plant 6 Main Office for over 20 years and then started her own fabrics and decorating business, Final Touch Fabrics in Concord, until her retirement. Shirley was a life long member of McGill Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and also enjoyed helping with the hotdog sale on Fridays. She loved going to her beach house at Oak Island and always wanted to extend her stay. In her later years, Shirley loved coloring many works of art and sharing them with others. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her with family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Hathcock in 2020, her brother Larry Lancaster and two sisters, Judy Talbert and Vickie Martin.

Those left to cherish her memory are son Robert Hathcock (Delinda) of Tampa, FL and daughter Stacey Cook (Terry) of Concord. Grandchildren include Sydney Cook Falls (Spencer) her son Fletcher, Riley Cook (Kaity) his children Lakeyn and Lenni Kate, Dylan Hathcock (Lauren) his children Brielle and Hudson, and Kendall Hathcock. Surviving siblings are her sister Brenda Lewis (Rick) and her brother Alan Lancaster.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 22, 2024 at McGill Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Ayers officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 2-3 PM Sunday. A private burial will be conducted the following day at Carolina Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Cooperative Christian Ministries C/O Grace Place at Caremoor, PO Box 1717, Concord, NC 28026.
