Shirley Ann Fisher Owens

Obituary: Shirley Ann Fisher Owens, 72 of Landis, NC passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017. Shirley was born on Oct. 15, 1944 in Harrisburg, NC the daughter of the late Homer Watson Fisher and the late Mary Ann Clanton Fisher Suddeth. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother and four sisters. Shirley had worked for the former Cannon Mills Company retiring after 36 years in the # 6 weave room. She is survived by two sons; Billy Owens and Scott Owens (Kelly) of Rowan Co. Also by seven grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and by a special sister-in-law, Dorothy Vinson whom the family wishes to thank for the love and care "Dot" offered her sister-in-law during these difficult times. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 2, at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Chaplain Edward Scott with Hospice. Burial will follow at West Lawn Mem. Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30p.m., Wednesday night at Whitley's. The family has requested that if anyone wishes, they can help with funeral expenses with a memorial donation made to Whitley's Funeral Home.
