Shirley Spears Sorrow

Obituary: Shirley Spears Sorrow, age 70, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017 at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC. She was born April 18, 1946 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Linnie Lee Spears and Ora H. Hamby Spears. Shirley was a daycare operator for 30 years and in earlier years worked at the Former Cannon Mills Company, Plant One, as an inspector in the wash cloth dept. She was also an active member of Northwest Baptist Church, Concord, NC having participated in various church activities. Shirley enjoyed fishing and watching WWF wrestling on TV. The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb 11th at Northwest Baptist Church, Concord, NC officiated by Rev. John Lindsay. Burial will follow at Carolina Medmorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends Friday night Feb 10th from 7:00 to 8:30p.m. at Whitley's Funeral Home. Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Sorrow; her son, Chuck Sorrow & wife, Devon, both of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Joshua M. Mann, Brittney Boles, Michael D. Mann, Taylor Sorrow, Kevonna Holmes-Sorrow, and Tristan J. Sorrow; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Perdue of Elkin, NC and Roy Lee Spears of Kannapolis, NC; and one sister, Linda K. Polk of Salisbury, NC. Memorials may be made to Norwest Baptist Church, 3500 Trinity Church Road, Concord, NC 28027.

Service: 1:30 PM, Saturday, February 11, 2017 Northwest Baptist Church, Concord, NC.

Interment: Carolina Memorial Park.
