Obituary: Shirley Elizabeth Cumming Stevens, 75, of 800 Sportsman Dr., Concord, died on Friday, September 18, 2009 at Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC. Shirley was born in Beaver PA, on September 16, 1934, the daughter of the late Fredrick Cumming and the late Ruth Pentz Cumming. She later moved to Brooksville, FL and after retiring as a Medical Transcriptionist, she made her home in Concord. She enjoyed watching auto racing, cooking and loved her animals, especially riding and showing her prized horses. Survivors include her 3 sons: Jack "Jay" Stevens of Concord, Jeffery A. Schlosser of Saluda, NC and Jack C. Schlosser of Summersville, SC and a daughter, Patty Bigham of Concord. Also, by 4 granddaughters, Melissa Schlosser, Tiffany Schlosser, Brandi Holbrook and Morgan Holbrook. A Memorial Service will take place at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, September 24, at McGill Baptist Church in Concord conducted by Rev. Steve Ayers. The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the church.
