Shirley Readling Troutman

Obituary: Shirley Elizabeth Readling Troutman, 83 of Mt. Pleasant, NC went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, September 21, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born on Oct. 22, 1934 in Cabarrus Co., NC, daughter of the late Thomas Hugh Readling and the late Nellie Elizabeth Austin Readling. Shirley was a member of Broadus Memorial Baptist Church. She began a legacy in her family when she became a Registered Nurse, graduating from Cabarrus Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1956. In the years that followed, ten other of Shirley's family members were inspired to become RN's. Her children fondly remember, "Mom was the most amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, AND the most super-fun play-mate on earth!" Family members cherishing her memory include her husband of 63 years, James E. (Buck) Troutman; three daughters, Renee Steadman (Douglas), Selwyn Lang (Scott) and Emily Love (Ray); grandchildren, Candice Hopkins, Michelle Eckert (Andrew), William Moose (Andrea Patino), James Moose, Haley Love, Wesley Love and Ava Pope; three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Hopkins, Mari Hopkins and Vera Eckert. The funeral service for Mrs. Troutman will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Sep. 24, 2018 at Broadus Memorial Baptist Church in Concord, conducted by Rev. Rodney Quesenberry.
