Shirley Beam Wilkerson

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC Shirley Ann Beam Wilkerson, 81, of Kannapolis passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018 at her home. She was born May 10, 1937 in Rowan County, a daughter of the late W.T. "Bill" Beam and Ruby Whittington Beam. Shirley was a homemaker, devoted wife and mother. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church, New Bern. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, October 19, 2018 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Scott Coghill. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Whitley's. Shirley is survived by her husband, Don Wilkerson, 5 daughters, Elizabeth Perry (F.A.), Priscilla "Pat" Coffren (John), Ann Boehm (Phil), Betty Harrington (John), Donna O'Donnell (Joe), 26 grand and greatgrandchildren, sister, Laura Sides and brother, Fred Strickland. Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
