Obituary: Shirley Marie Laws Wyatt, 78, passed away Monday, June 4, 2012 at the Tucker Hospice House. Mrs. Wyatt was born July 1, 1933 in Wilkes County, NC to the late Clifford M. and Minnie Harris Laws. She was married to the late James Wilson Wyatt who preceded her in 1984. In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by 4 brothers and 1 sister. Shirley was formerly employed by Cannon Mills and enjoyed spending time with grandchildren. Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Wyatt Johnson (Fred) of Mooresville; two sons, Roger Dale Wyatt (Joy) of Charlotte, and James Ricky Wyatt (Ronda) of Lexington; two sisters, Nola Osborne of China Grove and Ruby Mason of Concord; six grandchildren, Travis Childers (Natalie), Nicole Childers and fiancé Scottie London, Christopher Wyatt (Lacey), Marty Wyatt, Angie Sink (Joe), and Tyler Wyatt; six great- grandchildren; three step grandchildren, Wendy Valdivieso, Patty Druzbik (Michael), and Jacob Knopf (Allison); and four step great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Carolina Memorial Park with the Rev. David Shoemake officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County 5003 Hospice Lane Kannapolis, NC 28081.
