The time on earth was too short for our dear Nolan, who had a personality and character larger than life. There was no one who met him who could ever forget him. He was opinionated and a rebel. Nolan liked to do it his way. At the same time, he was charming and sweet, kind, hard-working and helpful. He never said no to anyone who needed his time or help.
As a young man, he was a daredevil who parachuted behind his jeep, not falling too softly into the field below. He loved his motorcycles and seeing how far he could do a wheelie!
Nolan was smart and enjoyed working. He always liked to work with his hands and became a good carpenter, and was able to do almost any woodworking job…from making cabinets and building tables and decks, to repairing old buildings…to recently making cutting boards for friends and family. Nolan had many talents….he was a jack of all trades, and always ready to meet any challenge head on.
If you asked Nolan what his greatest accomplishment was, it was probably to say he was the father of Sarah and to have a circle of some very close friends, family and people he knew who really loved him and looked out for each other.
Nolan had a great sense of humor. He could take even the worst situation and make a joke. He loved April’s Fool. The best story is when he thought his sister and mother had bought twin convertibles the same day…he really believed it til the next day when the truth was told and there was laughter about it for years. Nolan loved to laugh. It is ironic that he passed away peacefully on April 1. God’s will be done. Nolan is missed greatly by his family and friends who love him and will keep him in their hearts forever.
