Obituary: Silas Woodward, 95 of Kannapolis died Tuesday Oct. 27, 2009 at his home. He was born October 26, 1914 in Chesterfield County, SC the son of the late John Daniel Woodward and Ada Horne Woodward. He is also preceded in death by eight brothers, Murray, Parnell, Clark, Paul, Hubert, Wayne, Ivey and Dexter, and five sisters Carrie Oliver, Elizabeth Lowery, Clarice Taylor, Lucy Sellers and Nellie Woodward. He was a retired co- owner of Auto-Mart Garage in Kannapolis. He was a member of Kannapolis Church of God. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed carving walking canes. He also enjoyed hanging around and talking with friends with the Centerview Hardware bunch. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Friday at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel officiated by Rev. Sam Crisp and Rev. Ken Hensley. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from12:30 to 2:00 prior to the service. He is survived by his wife Rosalee Gulledge Woodward, his son Grady Woodward and wife Pat of Mooresville and his granddaughter Dr. Jennifer Woodward of Pittsburg, Pa. Service: 2:00 pm, Friday, October 30, 2009, Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel

Interment: Carolina Memorial Park
