Stan Shirley

Hoke Stanley Shirley, 79, of Kannapolis, NC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 24, 2022 with family by his side.  He was born to parents Hoke Smith Shirley and Kelsie Pitts Shirley in Cabarrus County on January 26, 1943.

Stan graduated from Landis High School in 1961. He spent many years as a general contractor business owner, Stan Shirley Construction, building homes in the community that families will enjoy for generations to come. Stan was also an avid golfer and loved to spend time at Irish Creek Country Club.

He is survived by a daughter, Amanda Shirley Chavis and husband Jerimy; son, Hoke Stanley Shirley II and two granddaughters, Anabelle and Adalynn Chavis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Barbara Shirley, Bub Shirley, Claudette Mattfield, Ann Sherrill and Terri Chapman

Memorials may be sent to Youth On Course (youthoncourse.org).  A private service will be held for the immediate family. Whitley's Funeral Home is assisting the family.
