Obituary: Stephen Eugene Auten, 39, of Kannapolis passed away on March 8, 2019. He was born May 16, 1979 in Cabarrus County, a son of Tennia Furr Auten of Kannapolis and the late Donald Eugene Auten. Stephen was employed as a foreman for Century Fire Protection. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Solid Rock Worship Center in Kannapolis officiated by Rev. Raymond Davis. His family will receive friends prior from 12:30 to 2:00 PM at church. Stephen is survived by his wife, Melissa Phillips Auten, mother, Tennia Furr Auten, sister, Stephanie Thomas (James), grandmother, Rena Auten, brother-in-law, Danny Phillips (Sherry) and several nieces and nephews.
