Steve Ray Rogers

Obituary: Steven Ray Rogers, 66, of China Grove passed away on Dec. 2 , 2017 at the VA Medical Center. He was born November 21, 1951 in Cabarrus County, a son of Billy Rogers and the late Dorothy Mae Joines Rogers. He was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth and Gary Rogers. Steve retired from Smith Turf and Irrigation in Charlotte after many years of service. He enjoyed working out in his yard and loved all types of animals. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Bennie Burgess. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Whitley's Funeral Home. In addition to his father, Steve is survived by his wife, Rhonda Trexler Rogers, daughter, Amy Woodruff (Darryl), Sons, Stevie Rogers, Mark Rogers, step daughter, Tabitha Marie Wheeler, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
