Obituary: Steve Eugene Rollins, 73, of 3300 Gregory Rd. Rockwell went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Tuesday Jan. 5, 2010 from CMC-NorthEast Medical Center in Concord. He was born January 15, 1936 in Cabarrus County, the son of the late Odell and Minnie Rowell Rollins. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Gail Beam Rollins in 1978 and his brother R.J. Rollins. He had worked for K-Town Furniture for over 25 years. He had previously owned and operated Rollins Upholstery. He was a member of Landis Baptist Church where he had taught Sunday school for over 40 years and was a building committee member. He loved playing golf and enjoyed photography. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday (Jan. 9, 2010) at Landis Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Billy Honeycutt, Rev. Ralph Robinette and Rev. Terry Rollins. His body will lie in state 30 minutes at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Landis Baptist Church. At other times the family will be at the residence. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca "Becky" Edwards Rollins, four children: Terry Rollins (Mona) of Salisbury, Debbie McGugan of Charlotte, Danny Rollins (Karen) of Salisbury and Rhonda Morgan (Mitchell) of Albemarle, his sister Elvia Hileman of Kannapolis, 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
