Obituary: Steven Curtis Jordan, 53, of Kannapolis died Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at CMC-North East Med. Center, Concord after 10 years declining health and 6 months severe illness.His funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, June 9 at Kannapolis West A Street Church of God with Rev. Ted Burke (uncle), Rev. Wanda Bush (Aunt) and Rev. Sam Crisp officiating. Burial will occur at 10:00 AM Friday, June 10 at Rowan Memorial Park in Salisbury. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7:00 PM Thursday, June 9 in the church sanctuary, at other times they will be at 1025 Cambrook Ct. Concord, the home of his parents, Carl and Marilyn Jordan.Steven was born April 13, 1958 in Hampton VA, a son of Carl and Marilyn Jordan of Concord. He moved to this area with his family in 1975 and graduated from S. Rowan High School in 1978. He met and married Teresa Hill in 1987. They moved to Morehead City for a time and moved back to this area in 2006. Steven worked facilities maintenance for Rowan-Salisbury Schools until he was disabled. He was a member of West A Street Church of God. An amateur photographer, Steven enjoyed shooting pictures of NASCAR races. Steven was preceded in death by his son, Justin Curtis Jordan in 1993.In addition to his parents, Steven is survived by his wife of 23 years, Teresa Hill Jordan of the family home, his brother, Darrin D. Jordan (Dana) of Kannapolis and numerous nieces and nephews and other loving relations. He is also survived by his dog "Snoopy".Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com.
