Obituary: Steven Edward Wiles, 61, of Fisher St. in Concord died Monday, Oct. 18, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast after a brief period of declining health. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 21 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Poarch officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 20 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM., at other times the family will be at the residence. Steve was born April 17, 1949 in Iredell Co. NC, the son of James R. and Irene Nagy Wiles. He was a life long area resident, graduating from Northwest Cabarrus High School in 1968. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam War. Steve worked for 40 years at PillowTex-Cannon in Plants 1 and 6, as a fixer in the sheet dept., until the Mill closed. He most recently was employed at Walmart near Concord Mills.Steve enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandkids. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dianne Cloninger Wiles of the family home, his daughter, Dawn W. Eudy (Dale) of Landis, his grandchildren, Nolan and Meredith Eudy. In addition to his parents, he is also survived by brothers, Paul Wiles (Johnette) of Kannapolis and John Wiles of Concord and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Daniel Wiles and 2 brothers, Richard and James Franklin Wiles.
