Obituary: Annie Sue Adams, age 82, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Best of Care Assisted Living, Kannapolis, NC after a period of declining health for 18 months. Sue was born April 29, 1932 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late James Alfred Adams and Annie Bell Chastain Adams. She was a 1951 graduate of A.L. Brown High School and a 1953 graduate of Kings Business College. She enjoyed a long career with Charlotte Pipe and Foundry from 1953 until her retirement in 1994. Sue was a faithful member of Centerview Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC where she had served in the past as a Sunday school teacher. Being an animal lover for many years, she was at one time active with the Humane Society of Cabarrus County. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Centerview Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Willie Rash. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, NC. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 - 2:00PM Saturday prior to the service. Survivors include her two sisters, Maggie L. Adams and Mary Adams Tilley of Kannapolis. She is also survived by four nephews, Jack Tilley, Jr., Steve Tilley (wife Rhonda), Michael Tilley (wife Melanie), Ben Tilley, one niece, Julie Pope (husband Grant), and many great nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved and had a tremendous impact on. Sue will especially be remembered as having a tender loving heart and gentle, sweet smile.
