Susan Mcclellan Patera

Obituary: Susan McClellan Patera, 73, of Concord died unexpectedly at her home on July 30, 2015. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 5 at 12:00 noon at the Salisbury National Cemetery. Her family will celebrate her life with a receiving of friends at Whitley's Funeral Home on Tuesday August 4 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Susan was born August 2, 1941 in Minneapolis, MN, a daughter of the late Donald and Cleo Haas McClellan. She was a longtime area resident and worked for the Charlotte FOP prior to managing a Mecklenburg Co. ABC store. Susan was a fun loving, carefree person, who enjoyed handbags, shoes, shooting pool and riding her Harley in her free time. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by husband, Ken Baker, her sister, Molly McClellan and her brother, John McClellan. She is survived by her son Donald John Patera of Wingate and her daughter, Jean Marie O'Connell of Charleston, SC. Susan is also survived by 5 grandchildren; Christopher, Ryan and Kristin Patera and Emmett and Killian O'Connell and also her sister, Ann Marie Kresoya (Bruce) of Edina MN.
