Susie Jane Wagner Davis

Obituary: Susie Jane "Sassy" Wagner Davis, 102, formerly of Landis passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Alston Brook in Lexington. She was born October 30, 1914 in Davidson County, a daughter of the late Joseph Bert Wagner and Ida Sink Wagner. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Steven Davis and two daughters, Carlene Jordan and Linda Joynes. She had formerly worked as a master weaver at various specialty textile mills in the area along with her husband in her earlier years. She had served as House Mother at the former Cabarrus School of Nursing. She was a member of Christian Fellowship Ministries in Kannapolis. She loved gardening and crocheting. She graduated from Welcome High School in 1931. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Tim Newton. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 PM prior at Whitley's. Grandma "Sassy", as she was affectionately called, is survived by her son, Bob Davis (Judy) , her daughter, Patti Hartness (Randy), 8 grandchildren, Tim Jordan (Caroline), Lisa Carrillo (Rai), Jack Joynes (Lori), Amy Bell (Wes), Benjamin Davis (Laura), Chris Hartness (Lora), Stacey Lanier (Dee), Joshua Hartness (Dana), 17 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
