Obituary: Mrs. Suzanne Elizabeth Carter Storch, 49, of Kannapolis passed away on Dec. 31. She was born in Durham on January 13, 1968, the daughter of Marcia and Alvin Carter. She graduated from West Rowan High School in 1986. She received an undergraduate psychology degree in 1990 and a Master's Degree in Public Administration in 1992 from UNC-Charlotte, where she met her husband, John Storch. They were married in 1994 and have two children, Cameron and Carrie Storch. Suzanne served as the first executive director of a Rowan County United Way member agency, Rowan Information and Referral from Oct. 1993 to April 2005. She then worked for Piedmont Behavioral Healthcare/Cardinal Innovations assisting about 5,000 unemployed Pillowtex textile workers with public health services. She then joined the community relations department focusing on community outreach and education and on expanding services to additional counties. She ended her career at Cardinal Innovations, where she helped homeless individuals find suitable housing and services. Survivors include her husband, John, daughter, Carrie, and son, Cameron; her parents, Marcia and Alvin Carter of Salisbury, her brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Robyn Carter of Dallas; her uncle, Charles Snipes of Gaithersburg, Md.; and numerous loving family and friends. Visitation will be at Whitley's Funeral Home at 1748 Dale Earnhardt Boulevard in Kannapolis at 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 3rd. The funeral will be at Mount Olivet in Kannapolis at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Jan 4th with Rev. Cheryl Skinner officiating. A graveside service will be at Lewis Memorial Park at 415 Beaverdam Road in Asheville, N.C. on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation, Hospice of Cabarrus County, Cooperative Christian Ministry or Mt.
