Obituary: China Grove- Sylvia "Ann" Meeks, 60, passed away Wednesday morning, January 10, 2018 at CHS-Northeast Medical Center following a period of declining health, but death was unexpected. Born April 26, 1957 in Mecklenburg County, she was formerly of Davidson, NC. Ann was a daughter of the late Charlie Bennie Meeks and Edith Virginia Grindstaff Meeks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Eugene Privette I, and a sister, Brenda Murdock. Ann loved watching TV, especially Gilmore Girls. She enjoyed shopping trips and spending time with her family. Gone too soon, Mrs. Meeks will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Loving family members include her children, Shannon Marie Meeks (Billy Stanley), Ken Privette (Dana) and Chad Privette; her sister, Susan Meeks Wood; brother, Tonnie Benny Meeks; her grandchildren, Melissa Privette, Aiden Blair, Kenneth "Mason" Privette and Jaxon Privette; and her nephew, Tony Meeks. Memorial services to remember and celebrate the life of Mrs. Meeks will be at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 14th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Joyce Miles. The family will speak to guests at the funeral home following the service. For those who prefer, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 933 Louise Ave., Suite 101B, Charlotte, NC 28204.
