Obituary: Kannapolis, NC-Tally Ervin Whitley, age 76, died Thursday, October 16, 2009 at Five Oaks Manor, Concord, NC after declining health of three years. He was born February 20, 1933 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of the late Crayton D. Whitley and Pansey Clyde Robertson Whitley. He had been disabled since the age of 17 from an automobile accident. He was a member of the Baptist faith. The funeral service will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Francis Ezhanikatt, C.S.s.R Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Whitley and Julian Whitley. Survivors include his two brothers, Robert (Doc)Whitley of Concord, NC and Spencer Whitley of Kannapolis, NC; and a number of nieces & nephews.
