Obituary: Tamara Stack Hill, 54, of Concord passed away at her residence on Monday, November 5, 2012 with her family by her side. She has fought appendix cancer for four years. Tammy was born in Cabarrus County on July 2, 1958 the daughter of Tony Jeff Stack, and Gayle Murphy Stack of Kannapolis. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, November 9, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home, with Pastor Derrick Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 1:00 to 2:30PM prior to the services. In addition to her parents, Tammy is survived by her husband, D. Terry Hill of the home, a step- son; David Allen Hill and wife Renee of North Wilkesboro, a step- daughter; Jennifer Hill Simpson and husband Jason of Concord, step-grandchildren; Megan, Dylan, Alexis, and Gracie, and a brother; Todd Stack of Nashville. Tammy was a member of Concord First Assembly. She was a member and former officer of the Piedmont Shag Association for many years. Tammy was a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant employed at the VA Hospital in Salisbury where she was responsible for Diabetic screening. The family wishes to thank Dr. Warden Woodard and Staff at Carolina's Hematology and Oncology in Charlotte for the excellent care provided to Tammy during her illness. Tammy always told Dr. Woodard to: "Keep practicing medicine with your heart", and he did till the end. They would also like to thank Laurie Pilla RN from Healthy at Home, Ellie Smith RN and Janet Walker CNA, both of Hospice of Cabarrus County for their excellent care and compassion.
