Obituary: Salisbury, NC Jerry "Ted" Miller, age 72, of Salisbury, formerly of Kannapolis, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Big Elm Nursing Home, after an 8 year battle with cancer. A memorial service to celebrate Ted's life will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 16 at Whitley's Chapel with Rev. Duane M. Herman and Stephen H. Brown officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the Chapel. Private interment will follow at a later date. Ted was born February 12, 1942 in Cabarrus Co., the son of the late Reverend J.T. and Icie Belle Holcomb Miller. He was a life-long area resident, 1960 graduate of A. L. Brown High School and member of West A Church of God. Ted retired from the National Guard as a Warrant officer, after 30 years of service. After retiring he worked corporate security at Fieldcrest-Cannon for many years. Ted will be remembered as an avid antique radio collector and restorer. He was a founding member of the Carolina's Chapter Antique Wireless Association. Ted was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 45 years, Sharon Hill Miller, his daughter, Joanna Dawn Miller, and his twin grandsons, Ethan and Jeron, all of the family home Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com.
