Teresa Jo "Tj" Spivey-Farlow

Teresa Jo “TJ” Spivey-Farlow, 72, of Concord, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Atrium Health Cabarrus.

TJ was born on March 28, 1951 in Newport News, VA to the late Joseph Spivey and Margaret Wall Spivey.

TJ honorably served in the United States Navy. She was an Alumni of UNC Charlotte.  She previously worked as a photojournalist for the Concord Tribune and Daily Independent. Following that career, she became the Vice President and business administrator for T Farlow Associates, Inc. for 30 years. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and reading. She volunteered for the Cabarrus Literacy Council for many years. She proudly earned a blackbelt in Taekwondo. She had a special place in her heart for animals. She was the light of her husband’s life and will be dearly missed.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of 38 years, Tim Farlow; brother, Dwight (Mary Jane) Spivey; sister, Wilhelmina Spivey Nelson; sister-in-law, Deb (Mike) Davis); brother-in-law, Robert (Kim) Farlow, and numerous nieces and nephews, and dear friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Craft officiating. Full military honors will be presented. A reception for family and friends will immediately follow the service in Whitley’s Funeral Home Annex Building.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ruth’s Memorial Shelter, 2010 Wilshire Ct SW., Concord NC 28025.
