Terry Wayne Goodman, Sr.

Obituary: Terry Wayne Goodman, Sr., 64, died Thursday, June 20, 2013 at CMC-NE after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 PM Monday, June 24, with Rev. Mike Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, June 23, at other times they will be at the family residence. Terry was born August 6, 1948 in Cabarrus Co., a son of the late Ray and Katherine Rayfield Goodman. He was a lifelong area resident and was of the Baptist faith. Terry was a veteran of the US Army, serving in Vietnam. He drove a truck for Overcash Gravel and Grading for over 25 years until he retired. Terry loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his grandchildren and loyal dog, Harley. He will be missed. In addition to his parents, Terry was also preceded in death by his brother, Ray Goodman and his grandson, Matthew Dylan Goodman. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carolyn Troutman Goodman of the family home; his sons, Michael Rayfield (Marla) of Salisbury, Randy Rayfield (Tabatha) of China Grove and Terry "Bo" Goodman, Jr. of Rockwell; 6 grandchildren, Terry "T.J." Goodman, Kaylee R. Eller (Stephen), Blake Goodman, Cameron Rayfield, Bailey Rayfield and Ryan Rayfield; 1 great-granddaughter, Adysen Eller. He is also survived by his sister, Gerri Spradley (Bill) of Norwood, and his 2 brothers; Ronnie Goodman (Diane) and David Goodman (Carol), both of Kannapolis and many other loving relatives.
