Terry Mitchell

Obituary: Mr. Terry Lane Mitchell, 72, of Kannapolis went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 after an extended illness. Terry was born October 20, 1945 in Cabarrus County to Charles E. Mitchell and Mary Ella Coble Mitchell. Terry had taught school at Mount Pleasant Middle School, and was their basketball coach. He loved playing softball and baseball and enjoyed golfing. Terry was proud to have served with the United States Marines during the Viet Nam War. Terry was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include, his mother Mary Ella Coble Mitchell of Kannapolis, his wife Karen Cook Mitchell of the home, his son John Mitchell of Kannapolis, one brother Wayne Mitchell and wife Saundra of Kannapolis. four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In honoring Terry's wishes, he will be laid to rest in Carolina Memorial Park and a celebration of life service will be held at a future date.
