Thaddeus Thomas Makachinas

Thaddeus Thomas Makachinas, 69, of Concord passed away, Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Huntersville Oaks.

He was born April, 16, 1953 in Pittston, PA to the late Peter Thomas Makachinas and Bette Ann Breza Makachinas.

Thad was a combat Medic in the Army serving during Vietnam with the 75th Army Rangers, 101st Airborne, Special Forces, he graduated with a BA in Science from Delaware Valley University, Doylestown PA. He was a traveling Inspector for Medicare/Medicaid as an accreditation advisor. He was also a member of Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church. Thad enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, traveling, and anything outdoors. He always had a great story to tell, or a funny joke, his favorite time was spent with family and friends and his Shih Tzu Nitro.

Those left to cherish his memory, his wife Carol Makachinas, son, Eric Makachinas (Sun) of Kannapolis, sister Lisa Cooper, of Zebulon, NC, three grandchildren; Josie, Calvin, and Luna, two nephews Matthew and Sean, two nieces, Brianna and Rachel, and in-laws; Carol and Howard Dickinson, Jean and John Clair, 3 nephews, Scott, Bryan, Keith, 3 nieces, Kristina, Andrea, Sarah.

Graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday March 5, 2023 at Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Fund or American Cancer society.
