Obituary: Concord, NC- Tharon Lucille Perry Miller, age 85, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Liberty Commons, Salisbury, NC. She was born October 8, 1931 in Ashe County, NC, the daughter of the late Lydia Cox Perry and Georgia Lee Blevins Perry. Tharon was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company until her retirement. She enjoyed fishing, camping, and picking up conch shells at the beach. She was raised and has been a member of the Baptist faith for many years. During her stay at Liberty Commons she enjoyed playing bingo on Tuesdays and Thursdays as well as eating chocolate anytime it was available. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Lee R. Miller who died April 5, 2016; and one brother, Dallas Perry. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Dr. Marty Payton and Rev. Ron Bushey. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include her children; Robert Miller (Carrie) of Gastonia, NC; Connie Hinson (Ken) of Concord, NC; Jerry Miller (June) of Wilmington, NC; and Rick Miller (Cindy) of Kannapolis, NC; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and siblings, Thurman Perry (Betty); Ronnie Perry (Terri); Kay Johnson; Mae Stirewalt (Robert); Jean Knowles; and Sue Sutherland (Wade).
