Obituary: Dateline: Concord, NC Thelma Hartsell Bost, 89, of Concord, NC died at the Brian Center in Concord on April 18, 2014. Thelma was born May 13, 1924 in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late Winfield Scott Hartsell and the late Ruth Goodnight Hartsell High. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Ray Bost who died in 2008 and her siblings; Helen Long, Buddy High and Sue Musgrouve. She was a member of St. Enoch Lutheran Ch. where she served on several committees within the church. She retired in 1988 after 30 years of service in the sewing room from the former Cannon Mills Co. Thelma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she was a wonderful cook. Thelma is survived by a son, Michael Ray Bost (Linda) of Kannapolis; a daughter, Lana Gail Linker of Goldsboro, NC, grandchildren; Trent Bost (Paula) and Brad Bost (Kelly) both of Concord, Sylvia Stevens (Bobby) and Chris Boykin (Randal) both of Goldsboro, also by eight great-grandchildren and sisters; Mary Hogan and Shirley Burleson both of Concord. The funeral service for Mrs. Bost will take place at 2 p.m., Monday, April 21, at St Enoch Lutheran Ch. in Kannapolis conducted by Rev. Floyd Bost and Rev. John Merch. The family will receive friends at the church before the service between 12 & 2:00. Burial will take place at the church cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of the Brian Center in Concord, the rehab team, and especially Dottie, Crystal and Linda at the center, for all the love and care provided to Thelma. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to: St. Enoch Lutheran Church, 701 Campbell Ave., Kannapolis, NC 28081.
