Thelma Gladys Rodgers Graham, 94, of Kannapolis, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, January 14, 2024.
Thelma was born on August 11, 1929, in Cabarrus County. She was a cherished daughter of the late Bruner Allen Rodgers and Nora Lee Cannup Rodgers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Myers and later her second husband, James Graham; siblings, Paulene Rodgers, Mae Lingruen, Margie Dennis, William Rodgers, Tricy Rodgers, Otis Rodgers, Ada Myers, and Jimmy Rodgers and is still cherished by siblings, Fannie Belle Waldroup, LaVaughn Rodgers and Amelia Fowler
A devoted matriarch, Thelma was the heart of her family. Her love for her children and grandchildren was immeasurable. She loved cooking, remembered each family member’s favorite dishes, and found joy in preparing and sharing food with loved ones. She generously shared her recipes, instilling in her children and grandchildren a love for tradition and the value of sharing a meal. Thelma was a long-time member of West A Church of God; her spirituality was a guiding force in her life.
Those left to cherish her memory include her and Jim’s children: Roger Myers (Debbie), Kimberly Bostian, and Rhonda Coley (Howard); her stepchildren: Daryl Graham (Taffy), and Cindy Triece (Doug); grandchildren: Mitchell Myers, Kasey Short, and Kristina Aronowitz; great- grandchildren: Liliana Strickland, Elijah Short, Noah Short, Abby Aronowitz, Bennett Aronowitz and Eliza Aronowitz.
The family will receive friends at 12:00 PM on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Thelma’s caregivers, Anita Holland, and Carol West, who cared for Thelma like family for the past five years.
