Thelma Harris

Obituary: Mrs. Thelma (Midge) Harris, 95, of Kannapolis entered her heavenly home on March 24, 2016. She had been a resident of Transitional Health Care for several years. Midge spent her entire life in Kannapolis. She retired from the Concord Telephone Company and was a life-long member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She spent many volunteer hours as a hospital pink lady and delivering Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed water activities at the YMCA, square dancing, and the Red Hat Ladies group. She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Justice and husband, Gary of Graham, NC, Jann Harris of Raleigh, Amy Harris (Jon Decker) of Kannapolis, and son, Andy Harris and wife, Sharon of Kannapolis, Survivors also include grandchildren, Chad Wade and Ashley Wilhelm and two great grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carter Harris, son, Stan Harris, siblings Ralph Herrin, Claudine Hendren, and parents, James and Annie Herrin. A service of death and resurrection will be held at Trinity UMC, 2:00pm, Saturday March 26, 2016 by Rev. Kirk Tutterow. Visitation will be 1:00pm at the church. Memorials may be made to the church or Boy Scouts, Troop 33 at 416 E. First Street, Kannapolis, NC 28083. Interment at Carolina Memorial Park.
