Theodore Moore

Theodore Moore, 87, of China Grove, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 2, 2022.

Born November 10, 1934, in Chesterfield, SC, he was a son of the late James “Willis” and Mary Starnes Moore.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hazel Lee Moore; 3 brothers, Lee Roy, Carson and Eugene Moore; and a sister, Peggy Christenbury.

Mr. Moore had retired from Fiber after 28 years of loyal service. He loved his family, enjoyed farming and rabbit hunting, and was a longtime devoted member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church.  A loving father, grandfather and brother, Mr. Moore will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family members left with cherished memories include his sons, Jeff Moore (Shari) and Lynn Moore (Margie); brothers, Don Moore, Grady Moore (Jo) and Walter Moore (Janice); his sisters, Marcine Miller and Mary “Lib” Alexander; grandchildren, Erin Moore (Ricky), Rebekah Sloop (Ronald), Daniel and Stacy; his great-granddaughter, Kaylee Sloop; nieces, nephews and extended family members.

The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 PM Sunday, March 6, 2022, at Whitley’s Funeral Home. Graveside services to celebrate and give thanks for the life of Mr. Moore will begin at 2:00 PM Sunday, at West Lawn Memorial Park, conducted by Pastor Jim Beard.
