Thomas H. Alexander

Obituary: Thomas H. Alexander, 91, of Kannapolis died Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Big Elm Nursing Center. He was born July 1, 1919 in Cabarrus County, the son of the late John H. and Maggie White Alexander. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vencie Nichols Alexander on Dec. 9, 2011. He was preceded in death a sister Floretta A. Foster and two brothers , John and Charles Alexander. He retired from Cannon Mills Co Plant 1 Instrument Dept. after working 50 years. He was a member of Kannapolis Church of God. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WW II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 115 and the VFW Post 8989. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Barbara Watkins. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Plaza Mausoleum with military honors by the Cabarrus Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior. He is survived by two daughters: Charleen Alexander Gobble and Terry Alexander. Memorials may be made to Kannapolis Church of God, 2211 West A Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
