Thomas Carl Funderburk

Obituary: Mr. Thomas Carl Funderburk, 72, of Kernersville, formerly of China Grove went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem following a period of declining health. Thomas was born May 19, 1946 in Cabarrus County, NC a son of the late Carl Brastian Funderburk and Kathleen Karriker Funderburk. Also proceeding him in death was his wife, Linda Jeanne Seaman Funderburk. Thomas was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Kannapolis where he sang in the church choir and had served on the church council. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Vietnam Era in South Korea. He was employed as a systems programmer for Cannon Mills, Fieldcrest and Pillowtex Mills. He was also an Eagle Scout. Family members left to cherish his memory are three daughters; Gianna Bryan and husband Derek of Holly Spring, NC, Wendy Mitchell and husband Mark of High Point, and Cheryl Funderburk of Hendersonville. He is also survived by one brother, Jerry Funderburk and wife Sylvia of Huntersville. Thomas has five grandchildren; Noah, Chloe, Zane, Phillip and Graham. A graveside service for Mr. Funderburk will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 22, 2019 at Carolina Memorial Park conducted by Rev. Denton Bennet.
