Thomas Lester Gee

Obituary: Thomas "Tommy" Lester Gee, age 67, of Kannapolis, died Sunday October 13, 2013 at CMC-NE in Concord, after a brief period of declining health. Funerals services will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from noon until 1:30 PM Thursday Oct. 17, prior to the funeral. Tommy was born October 21, 1945 in Cabarrus Co., a son of the late Thomas Hubert and Stella Mae Milam Gee. He was a lifelong area resident and veteran of the US Army, serving in Vietnam. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for Carolina Tractor & Equipment for many years and then operated his own Mechanic's Shop. Tommy was always trying to help others in need. He will be missed. In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Gee and his son, Richard Gee, who died in 1999. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Connie Furr Gee; his son, Thomas "Brant" Gee; his daughter, Melissa Ann Gee; 4 grandchildren, Thomas and Christopher Rudd and Keith and Kiara-Mae Murdock, and sisters; Brenda G. Daniels, Wilma G. Erwin (Don) and brother, Harold Gee, all of Kannapolis. Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com
