Obituary: Thomas Howard Kitzmiller, 56, of Concord died August 16, 2011 at CMC-NorthEast. He was born June 16, 1955 in Baltimore County, Maryland, the son of the late Benny Howard Kitzmiller and the late Beulah Maxine Sines Kitzmiller. He worked as a machinist for Martin-Marietta Aerospace in Maryland before moving to North Carolina. He worked at and was a member of Faith Baptist Church for many years where he had served as an assistant pastor, music/ maintenance director, youth director as well as various other church activities before his retirement due to disability. He loved playing the piano and was a musician for many weddings and funerals in the area. He also loved to fish. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Faith Baptist Church officiated by Rev. James Pauley, Rev. Hershel Wood and Rev. Kevin Gerber. Burial will follow at Sunset cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at the church.He is survived by his wife, Carol Perkins Kitzmiller, adopted grandchildren Hannah and Sarah Cahoon, his sister Beverly W. Demastus (Bill), three brothers William Wallace (Sheila), Marvin Richard Kitzmiller and Michael Kitzmiller (Patricia) and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews that loved him very much.Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 904 Chipola Street, Kannapolis, NC 28083 and/or American Diabetes Assoc., 222 South Church St., Suite 336M Charlotte, NC 28202.Whitley's Funeral Home handling arrangements.Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com
