Thomas Watts Lentz, Sr.

Obituary: Harrisburg, NC Thomas Watts Lentz, Sr., age 79, of 5957 Roberta Rd. died Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis following a period of declining health. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 21 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Posey officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 -8:00 PM Wednesday at Whitley's Funeral Home; at other times they will be at the family home. Thomas was born November 28, 1929 in Alexander Co. NC the son of the Late W. Grove Lentz and the late Mary Ervin Lentz. He was a life long area resident, driving a truck for Carolina Freight Carriers until he retired. Thomas was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII and he was a member of Victory Temple in Concord. In addition to his parents Thomas was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy "Dottie" Burrage Lentz. He is survived by his daughters; Theresa Sheets and husband, Butch of Decatur, AL, LaDonna Doggette and husband, Mike of Mooresville and Dorothy "Beth" Hutto of Harrisburg. He is survived by his son Thomas "Tommy" Lentz, Jr. of Harrisburg and grandchildren Jason and Kevin Sheets, Jonathan and Ashley Hamby, Chance Daniels and Victoria Doggette.
