Thomas Dale Smith

Thomas Dale Smith,92 of Concord died at Caremoor Retirement Community on Monday, January 20, 2025.

He was born on July 18, 1932, in Columbus County, N. C., the son of the late Jesse James Smith and Minnie Lee Faulk. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Alice Smith and a son Thomas Smith, Jr.

Thomas had been a resident of Cabarrus County since 1969

.He was a truck driver and Minister. He enjoyed snowmobiling and dearly loved to travel. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he was very active in all parts of his church for all of his life.

Survivors include his daughters, Brenda Benton (Mike) and Linda Perkins (Darrell) both of Concord and Glenda Carter of Oak Island, NC. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Michael, Tracie, Kelly, Brandon, Adam, Bryan, Jared, Justin and Nathan along with 13 great grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Pam Smith of Fuquay-Varena. 

 The funeral for Thomas will take place at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Brother Mike Bingham with Brother Eddie Hodge as eulogist. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the home of Brenda Benton. Interment will follow at West Concord Cemetery.
