Thomas Edward Tweed

Obituary: Thomas Edward "Tommy" Tweed, 69 of China Grove went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at his residence following a period of declining health. Tommy was born October11, 1949 in Lake County, IL. A son of the late Thomas Edward Tweed, Sr. and Helen Virginia Hyatt Tweed. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Terry Tweed. Tommy was a very active member of the Enochville Church of God for as long as his health permitted. He served on mission trips to Central America, ran the sound board, and enjoyed playing Santa. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing and John Wayne was his hero. He and his family loved to travel and go to their mountain property. Family members left to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years Crystal Weaver Tweed of the home, two daughters; Lori W. Hardee and husband Chris Hardee of Concord, and Laurie Tweed of Salisbury, one son, Chris Watts and wife Tennille of China Grove, two brothers, Buddy Tweed and Lynn Tweed and wife Anita all of Morganton, and one sister, Elaine Walker and husband Roger of Burlington. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; Hannah Rowden and husband Rhyne, Christian Bost, Vada Stevens and husband Grant, Makenzie Waller, Pacey Watts, Christlyn Hardee, Makayla Waller and Lana Watts and two great grandchildren; Ashley Rowden and Stella Stevens. There will be a Celebration of Life held at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Enochville Church of God conducted by Revs. Carl Fosdick and Rev. David Shoemake. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. At other times they will be at the residence. Memorials may be sent to Enochville Church of God, 199 N.
