Thomas Franklin Willis

Obituary: Thomas Franklin Willis, 83, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Magnolia Gardens Extended Care Community in Spencer, following a period of declining health. Born December 19, 1932 in Cabarrus County, he was a son of the late Tom and Maggie Hilton Willis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Scottie Dale Willis, 3 sisters and a brother. Mr. Willis retired from the maintenance department at Pettyjohn Packaging of Concord and had previously been employed with Parkdale Mill in Salisbury. He had attended Rodgers Park Reformed Church. Mr. Willis enjoyed restoring old cars, yard work, NASCAR, working on mowers and had a special love for his Chihuahua "Baby". Family members left with many cherished memories include his wife of 64 years, Peggy Boger "Jean" Willis; his children Thomas F. Willis, Jr (Candice), Susan Brendle, Connie Ritchie (Johnny), Tony Lynn Willis (Donna), Lisa Ritchie (Mark); and one sister, Nancy Sechler (Butch), 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. The family will receive friends Friday evening April 1st, form 6:00-8:00 pm at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis. Funeral servicesto celebrate the life of Mr. Willis will be at 11:00 am Saturday, April 2nd at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, conducted by Rev. Randall Ritchie. Burial will follow in Cabarrus Memorial Gardens in Concord.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday April 1, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home.

Service: 11:00 AM, Saturday April 2, 2016 Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment: Cabarrus Memorial Gardens Concord, North Carolina.
