Thurman Levon Hyman

Thurman Levon Hyman, 76, of Kannapolis passed away Friday February 12, 2021 after a period of declining health. Born May 18, 1944 in Horry County, SC he was the son of the late Henry and Grace Todd Hyman.

Thurman spent his working years as a Regional Supervisor in the Finance Industry. He was a great provider for his family and very generous to those in the community. He loved NASCAR, tractors, backhoes, and family gatherings. No matter what was going on, his grandchildren always brought a sparkle to his eye.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeanette Cribb Hyman; a son, Tim and wife Erin of Kannapolis; a daughter, Robbin Morgan and husband Billy of Kannapolis; three grandchildren, Amanda Cauthen and husband Randy, Taylor and Landrie Hyman all of Kannapolis; two great grandchildren, Reagan and John Cauthen, both of Kannapolis; a brother Everette and wife Mary; and three sisters, Barbara Wise and husband Carl, Marilyn Squires and husband Charles, and Rhonda Hucks and husband Leverne; and many beloved nephews and nieces. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Donald Hyman and a sister Linda Gail Skipper.

A funeral service to honor Thurman’s life will be held at 12:00PM Monday, February 15, 2021 at Whitley’s Funeral Home, Kannapolis. Pastor James Kuhl will officiate. Interment will immediately follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 12:00 at the funeral home.  The family requests that all those in attendance wear masks and respect social distancing guidelines.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials be made to Shriner’s Research Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, FL 33607 or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
